I’m not sure. But I’m also somewhat guilty because I still build robots all the time. I should start sharing more stuff too. Guess people are spending too much time building robots then talking about them
i ordered a robot that I’m going to start hacking. I should start posting videos when it arrives
By the way, no spoilers. But it’s a robot chassis I’ve wanted for a long time. Now with small computers I think it’ll be my little best friend lol
I don’t know about anyone else but for me robotics is a winter hobby when it is too cold to go outside.
For me the problem was last winter too many people were complaining about my robot building noises late at night as they lived below me but seem to be gone now. Hope I drove them crazy and they just left, LoL!
I'm sorry that I'm two years late but it might be the strict requirements on posting robot projects. You have to use a YouTube video and at points, the feature can break which won't allow you to post. Of course, web design is hard and programming is even harder so I understand why glitches can occur. It might be beneficial to add more compatibility with video files, that is MP4 and MOV.
Truth be told, I've been busy working on a side business all winter and it's been taking up all my extra time. I'm not sure if it's going to go anywhere but we'll see. Some of the business will involve robotic solutions and products, there will also be a bit of standard electronics parts, retro-gaming hardware, 3D printed & laser cut products. I've made a few local sales but I'm still feeling things out.
@WiinterU I haven't experienced any glitches when posting YouTube on here. What were you trying to do when you experienced issues?
I was updating my Roomba post and the feature was glitching out. It might be beneficial to add more ways of adding videos to here, like FaceBook or TikTok. Not saying you have to do it, I'm just suggesting it.
I'm planning on posting something soon. Been busy with life stuff, meanwhile decided to redo my last project all over again (I get picky with what I create sometimes, lol).To be continued....
My WALL-E is nearing completion and should be done soon. I'll post it soon.
@Jeremie, I hope you get to a point where you can share your projects with the community. It would be great to see what you've been working on.
Thanks Will and Dave!
Sorry I meant to reply last night but I left my reply half-finished
For now, I'm just testing products out at a local mall. It's a unique opportunity because 3D-printed products haven't really caught on there yet. I don't have anything too exciting yet. I'm designing a few things and slowly testing the market for them.
3D printing has become a whole lot easier and more options have opened up since getting a Bambu Lab printer. There are a lot more things I can do now with new materials, multiple colors, and just speed in general. It has taken a lot of my time to explore the in's and out's
At this time I know nothing about 3D printing or the equipment used. However I do have a lot of contact with builders that are using 3D printing to create classic robots. I'm hearing a lot of chatter about the Bambu Lab printer. If it's making easier and better prints then this is what I've been waiting for.
Yeah I agree the Bambu is the printer. Unfortunately they are a bit small at the moment with the biggest core XY only 256 mm cubed. The rumor is they will be making an announcement end of this month for their new v2.0 models...I hear bigger build volume. I officially purchased my biggest printer (FDM) just waiting for it to arrive. Its 800 mm x 800mm x1000mm. Problem now is where to put it. I need a bigger shop, the printers are pushing me out!
The Bambu printer might be my next one. My Syndaver Axi which has a large print volume, recently broke and am having hard time getting it repaired. Also thinking about the Lutzbot Taz6 series, also large volume. Might even get one of those Creality printers for some small stuff. Too many choices lol
Wow Will! I take it you got a OrangeStorm Giga? Yeah those things are massive!
Yeah I would recommend Bambu Lab printers to people who want to get into 3D printing. I feel like this where the Makerbots left off and they took it to the next step. Printing is so much easier now. The speed is awesome, I don’t have much trouble with bed adhesion, I love multi-color printing and using materials I’ve never used before. I also love the ability to manage my printer from my phone.
Although, I will say that there’s a lot that can go wrong with the AMS unit. Automatic feeding with 4 spools isn’t always perfect. I have to do some babysitting at times.
Once the recalls are finished and everything is fixed I would likely recommend the A1. Otherwise, right now I would recommend the P1S, as the X1C is a great printer but it’s hard to justify that much of a higher price. I mean you could upgrade the P1S for much cheaper than directly buying an X1C. The Panda screen + a new hot end pretty much turns a P1S into an X1C.
@ Jer Yea the giga! Been watching test prints from influencers, amazing to see. Looking forward to when I get mine. I have the P1P from Bambu..I dont need to print in muticolor...yet.....but exciting to have the ability to do so in the future.
