Can Just A Laptop Give My Ez Robot Sound?

I asked this question earlier...I am wondering if I can give my ez robot sound through the laptop or a speaker. I need help with this because I just bought a Bluetooth speaker that is not compatible with my laptop sadly, so I need to figure out if my laptop alone can do the sound or if I should just buy another speaker. I also am wondering how you make your robot more autonomous, because I am trying to make mine like dj's wall-e, but it seems to only be for the most part- "remote controlled". please make aware that right now, my wall-e has his camera installed in his eye, but when I click the facial recognition feature, he doesn't look at me or follow my face. I don't know why that is...make this clear, that he is unable to avoid obstacles as the ultrasonic sensor has not been soldered on yet, because I'm having a friend do that. I assume that with out the ultrasonic sensor, he isn't autonomous- I would think...but I'll wait till it is installed and see what that does for him. Thank you everyone for all your help! Have a nice day.

Welcome KENN-E, When you say your laptop is not compatible with your Bluetooth speaker, what is the reason? Does your laptop not find your bluetooth device? Place it close with new batteries or fully charged, turn it on, choose add Bluetooh device. If it shows on your available list, click on it and let windows find the appropriate drivers. Does the Bluetooth unit say it supports your O.S.? Radio Shack let me try out my unit @ the store. I have Vista (not the best for EZ Robot-plan to update) and sometimes I must remove the Bluetooth and re-install it to get it to operate. Sometimes it helps me to shut down my laptop to resolve issues. Steve S

I'd guess drivers aren't available. I have that problem with the turtle beach headset I planned to use. Nothing can be done short of making your own drivers.

Your question doesn't make much sense. Can you elaborate on what you mean by sound through the laptop or a speaker. Are you fitting the laptop in the robot?

I recommended this to someone else today, just buy yourself a small FM Radio and put it in the walle with a speaker. Then plug a FM modulator with 2.5mm headphone jack and plug that into your laptop. Tune the radio to the station your FM modulator is on and your done;) - Josh S

Josh, that may work where you are. Here in the DC area, the FM band is so packed FM modulators are virtually unusable. Might work in a house, but you'll need to retune if you take the bot anywhere.

That's good to know , I've never experienced that in Atlanta , here they are required to have space between stations and if the FM modulator is specific or digital its not a problem. I think the minimum here is 2 MHz between but usually 4 mhz
