Resolved by DJ Sures!
Hello @Synthiam Support and @Athena,
Yesterday, I downloaded the Pro 1/27 revision of ARC, and all my scripts were functioning well. However, today I am unable to open the ARC program. The only thing that displays is a "cutoff" screen with the background graphics only partially visible. Additionally, I am unable to close the program properly and had to force a shutdown of my computer. I attempted a "Repair" during a subsequent download, but there was no change. I also tried a "Remove" followed by a fresh download, but the issue persists. Could you please assist me in resolving this problem?
Thank you,
Jack

Hello Jack,
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with ARC. Let's try a few steps to resolve this problem:
Check System Requirements: Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for ARC. You can find these requirements on the Synthiam website.
Update Graphics Drivers: Sometimes, display issues can be caused by outdated graphics drivers. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
Run as Administrator: Try running ARC as an administrator. Right-click on the ARC shortcut and select "Run as administrator."
Check for Conflicting Software: Some software might conflict with ARC. Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software to see if that resolves the issue.
Check Event Viewer: Open the Windows Event Viewer to see if there are any error logs related to ARC. This might give us more insight into what's causing the problem.
Reinstall ARC: Since you've already tried reinstalling, ensure that all previous ARC files are completely removed before reinstalling. You can do this by:
Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows operating system is fully updated, as missing updates can sometimes cause software issues.
Compatibility Mode: Try running ARC in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows. Right-click on the ARC shortcut, go to Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and select an earlier version of Windows.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please let me know, and we can explore further options. Additionally, if you have any error messages or logs, please share them, as they can provide more information to help diagnose the problem.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions or need further assistance!

Pro 1/27 revision of ARC running fine on my computers.
Hello @Synthiam Support and @Athena, I have checked the above items with the exception of the last recommendation using an earlier version of windows. I have been running windows 11 (chrome) for the last 3 years. All updates to windows and updates to this Lenovo i7 laptop are UpToDate. I have performed two more attempts of complete fresh downloads and problem still exists. Attached are screen shots of my opening pages to ARC.
Can you please assist in resolving this matter? Could it be that the latest Revision has a problem with Chrome? It seems the last Revision had an initial problem with Chrome. Thank you, Jack
Hello Jack,
Thank you for providing more details. Since you've already tried most of the troubleshooting steps, let's focus on a few additional possibilities:
Compatibility Mode: Even though you're using Windows 11, try running ARC in compatibility mode for Windows 10 or an earlier version. This can sometimes resolve issues with newer operating systems.
Graphics Settings: Check if your laptop has a dedicated graphics card (like NVIDIA or AMD) and ensure that ARC is set to use the dedicated graphics card instead of the integrated one. You can usually do this in the graphics control panel.
Disable Hardware Acceleration: If ARC has an option to disable hardware acceleration, try doing so. This can sometimes resolve display issues.
Check Chrome Settings: Since you mentioned Chrome, ensure that any Chrome extensions or settings are not interfering with ARC. Try disabling extensions temporarily to see if it makes a difference.
Event Viewer Logs: If you haven't already, check the Windows Event Viewer for any error logs related to ARC. This might provide more insight into the issue.
Contact Synthiam Support: While I aim to provide solutions directly, if the issue persists, it might be beneficial to reach out to Synthiam support for more in-depth assistance. They might have additional insights or updates regarding compatibility with Chrome or Windows 11.
Alternative Browser: If Chrome is suspected to be the issue, try using a different browser to download ARC and see if that resolves the problem.
If you have any error messages or logs from the Event Viewer, please share them here, as they can provide more information to help diagnose the problem. Let me know if you need further assistance or if any of these steps help resolve the issue!

This is not an issue with ARC, but I can try to give you some advice. It looks like your Windows installation is having some issues. Perhaps you have some programs installed that may be making Windows unstable. Or do you have a virus or something? Perhaps it requires a Windows update. There are several reasons that can make Windows behave badly. As Athena explained, removing every trace of what's there is a good idea.
Follow these instructions to remove ARC from your computer altogether: https://synthiam.com/Support/troubleshooting/Completely-Remove-All-ARC
If you're downloading ARC to reinstall, do not install an older copy in your downloads folder. Always install the latest copy.
Thank you @DJ and @Athena, I appreciate your efforts to assure me of an ARC Revision that is functioning correctly. Going forward I will presume the problem is on my computer. I have updated my computer with Windows and Lenovo revisions. I have run a diagnostic check of all systems and hardware on the computer. I have checked the Display Settings and all are recommended. Note Banner in the image. 1,2,3 screens for my scripts are barely visible. The START icon in each script box is cut in half. When JavaScript tab is selected, the actual script is very small, half of what was normal yesterday. I will attempt an ARC download to another computer tonight. Thank you for great support. Jack
Hello Jack,
Thank you for the update and for your patience as we work through this issue. It sounds like you've been thorough in your troubleshooting, which is great. Here are a few more suggestions that might help:
Display Scaling: Check your display settings for scaling. Sometimes, Windows can adjust the scaling, which might affect how applications are displayed. Try setting the scaling to 100% to see if it resolves the issue.
Resolution Settings: Ensure that your screen resolution is set to the recommended setting for your display. Sometimes, incorrect resolution settings can cause display issues in applications.
Graphics Driver Update: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website for your graphics card.
Test on Another Computer: As you mentioned, trying ARC on another computer is a good step. This will help determine if the issue is specific to your current setup.
Reinstall ARC: If you haven't already, try completely uninstalling ARC and then reinstalling it. Make sure to download the latest version from the Synthiam website.
Check for Conflicting Software: Sometimes, other software can interfere with ARC. Consider disabling or uninstalling any recent software that might be causing conflicts.
Run as Administrator: Try running ARC as an administrator. Right-click on the ARC icon and select "Run as administrator" to see if it makes a difference.
Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and if the issue persists, feel free to reach out with any additional details. I'm here to help!

Athena is correct with point #1
But even still - scaling should be auto-adjusted in ARC. See this screenshot when I have my scaling set for 150%
I feel it has something to do with the graphic drivers or how the scaling is configured. See that in my screenshot; the stuff is big but still scaled correctly. Have you changed anything about scaling or graphic drivers? But even the graphic driver shouldn't affect how the software is rendered. Unless the EXE properties have been altered by right-clicking the ARC executable and changing the dpi rendering
The ARC properties for compatibility should be blank like this
you get to that window by right-clicking and selecting properties on either the
Actually, there might be something funky going on with Microsoft Windows. Your computer must have been updated, as well as one of mine. I'm getting sick and tired of chasing issues that Microsoft causes for us. Its absolutely painful and enough to throw my hands in the air and walk away. Microsoft throws a wrench at us whenever we think we're getting ahead.
So, on one of my other computers, I loaded ARC, and the scaling is set for 150% (the same as the previous screenshot). And look at this mess. The text doesn't fit in buttons. Everything is squished. But on one of my other computers, it is totally fine. I'm at a loss as to what's going on. We also have an update to publish, so that's delayed while we wait to understand better what Microsoft just did to the world's computers.
I rebooted the computer from my first screenshot and now it's looking like the other. Microsoft did a sneaky update somewhere and it broke the way programs are rendered.
A reboot went from this
to this...
Ugh. I think they do these changes when nothing needs to be fixed just to justify keeping their jobs. I disabled Win Auto Update on my robot's computer running ARC to avoid update problems like this. However it was very difficult to keep disabled as Win auto update keep resetting and coming back to life like a bad zombie movie. I think I finally got it after watching a few YouTube vids on the problem and trying a few solutions.
At least @RoboJack knows he's not crazy. This stuff makes my head hurt also. Hang in there guys. Never give up, never retreat.
I was asked to update you that a fix has been identified, and we're working on implementing it now. This evening, we foresee a new release posting to solve the graphical render sizing issue.
Thank you. We've always been able to count on Synthiam's customer service. It's comforting to know that nothing has changed over the years.
Bless you all. I have spent all morning trying to get to the bottom of this with tech support for Lenovo. All steps taken thus far have not yielded any change. Multiple downloads later the corrupted display continues. Lenovo suggested a factory reset. This is severe and I will wait on DJ before taking this action. Thank you DJ for all you do! BTW, my wife pulled out her old HP surface pro and did updates before I could advise her not to. When I downloaded ARC on her laptop, the same corrupted display appeared. Jack
Not sure if you saw, as support mentioned, there was an update last night for the render bug: https://synthiam.com/Products/ARC/Releases/ARC-2025-01-30-00-Pro-and-Runtime-22624
