Most will probably work without issue.

I know from first hand experience that the Samsung S5 and the HTC One X both work flawlessly.

It may be an idea to have a list of confirmed working phones for the app rather than asking which is a good phone for the app, if everyone lists what they have used I'm sure we can compile some kind of list from that easily. It'll also be helpful when things kick off and there is an inrush of questions about the mobile app, we can check the list and say "Well, xxx has used the yyy phone without issue" or "xxx has tried the yyy phone but it was slow and unresponsive" etc.

So something like this;

Acer Iconia B1-710 (a little slow but the tablet is slow anyway)

Google (Asus) Nexus 5 Nexus 7 (all versions)

HTC Butterfly Droid DNA One M8 One X

Other Nvidia Shield

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Galaxy S4 Galaxy S5

I'll update this post when more have posted what they have used successfully. I guess this isn't limited to just phones, tablets too can go up there.

HTC One M8 HTC Droid DNA (HTC Butterfly outside USA) Google Nexus 7 (2012)

Still need to try HTC Rezound and Motorola Xoom, and HTC Droid Incredible (with custom Android 4 rom)

I believe the phone DJ uses for demonstrations is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Coincidentally, I own a Note 3, and I can verify it as working:)

My Samsung S4, nexus 7 1st gen, nexus 7 2nd gen. all work flawlessly.

Not a phone but the Nvidia Shield works great as well. With mappable joysticks and buttons it's an awesome tactile EZ-robot experience:D

I haven't used my Nexus 5 on it a whole lot, but it loaded up an app just fine and seemed to work:)

Like others have said, probably almost all android phones less than 3 years old would do nicely.

By the way, I don't know your price range, but a new Nexus 5 can be had from Google for $350 and it's a damn good phone;)
