Pretty much, the main differences are that the robie has a different head.

What features are you hoping to add to it?

The Robie Sr is basically a Hearoid as far as the bits we use are concerned, feel free to have a look at Melvin for ideas and to judge if you want to use the Robie or go for a 5402.

The EZ-B makes it all very easy. The hardest part is the physical modification to the old toy robot and then even that's not too difficult. It all depends on what you do mind you, some things are trickier than others but the EZ-B side and ARC side of it is very easy, and if you get stuck this community is always there to help you out.
