Does anyone know if the vex mechanical parts such as gears are compatible with the ez-robot servo shafts etc as i have looked at the servo specs for ez-robot but it does not specify the shaft dimensions or profile. I am just new here so maybe a bit of an obvious question.
A good question, though, and I had wondered the same!
So does anyone know if the vex system is compatible with the shaft design of the supplied servos in the ez-robot as the vex seem to have a different profile when it comes to the shaft design. I am after good linear motion gears and this system seems to have good solutions in this area....can anyone suggest where I can find linear motion gears like this if they are not the most compatible with the ez-robot hardware.
I've never seen a Vex kit in real life - sorry
Thank you....may just use couplings to join both systems together. I assume the star gear on the servos that you supply can come off so just the round shaft is left and i can then use a coupling to join the shaft from the servo you supply to the Vex hexagonal system.
If you don't mind the robot weighing a billion pounds, you can look into this: http://www.vexforum.com/showthread.php?t=2587
:D
Thank you that's a great help....I will just use the coupling........
