Starnes Free 50 Amp Esc And Axi 2800 Motor Contest

Starnes Free 50 amp esc and Axi 2800 motor Contest

We have a special contest today , two new swift 50a esc and two New axi gold 2800 , this is 350 dollars of motor controllers and high end motors. It's simple to win , post your ideas of how you would use these in your robotic project , you can write a paragraph or more explainong concept , sketches or diagrams showing how you would use it , or even pictures of placement of where it would go in your current robot (that means even lloyd can jump in on this). Between voting from members and my personal discretion I will award a creative member these items.

Josh you are the man! I only wish I had a use for them.

I'm surprised there are no interested members

power system for a amphibious tankbot. a simple propellor to power the bot effiviently while in the water

#5

As someone in "Home improvement" used to say: "More power!". But I guess my little caterpillar would just be ripped apart, if I used one of those babies:) But I love the idea of your contest!

#6

Omrisaac , what base are you going to use? Material? Would it be ex or ezb controlled?

Hi, I would try to build one of these and use the air intakes as to suck air in and transport it to each of the props like the the dyson bladeless fans. I would stear it with servo's and put on large rockets and stuff.

#9

Bude , lol that's what I bought these for , o built a scale model of avatars heli , even have the 8.5 inch props and hub adapters for them. These ideas are getting better , only catch is I send whoever wins hundreds of dollars of free stuff I want to see a build thread up and going lol. So imrissac you would connect yours to a small compressor , hmm very interesting I like that , ofcourse you only need one I believe to run a small compressor. Come on details details:):) I love where this is going.

#10

Omrisaac , what kind.of bot would you.use these pneumatics on? Personal around the house.bot? Outdoor? Brattlebot? Just remember we want to.keep it in the range.of.something that can be.built and.ofcourse I'm.happy to help.

@jstarne, I was already planning to build one, but first have to finnish my current bot... Damn, already have ideas cooking up... I might make some CAD drawings for the mechanics and prepair it for when my current bot is finnished. So I can get the parts made :P. Note: that it will be huge... I'm thinking 1 meter long or something, in the end it will depend on the motors and how much lift and more. Ahw now I'm all excited... Probably going to start designing tomorrow... (can't help it)

These motors make 4 pounds thrust each with 8x5 three blade prop

#13

Here is the bot i would put the pnumatics on. it is still a work in progress plus i have it half way torn apart while ive been cleaning up he wiring and revising some parts.

Wow your pretty far along in this project , what are you going to do with pneumatics?

#15

if i get the motors they might work for my quad copter design looking for low profile motors

#16

Alright members , its between Omrisaac and robot maker , who should get the wonderful , new , top of the line equipment:). ? ?

#17

bought some fiber plastic to very light weight, usinfg EZ board ,gyro, and looking at a way to add a altimeter

#18

I think im going to put a pnumatic suspension system on my bot for adjustable ride height and stiffness. Im thinkg about having four seperate pnumatic cylnders oberating 4 individual suspension arms for the road wheels and of course its all powered by the brushless system running a small compressor to fill an air tank. Alao i might wire the suspension to an accelerometer, gyro, flex, or other type of sensor for active stabilization. Finally later i might think about making it amphibious some how.

#19

Imrisaac you win man the idea to use a motor to turn a compressor was really the most creative and you already started the project.

#20

@imrisaac great project, you deserve it,it will be awhile before i need the motors ,have a few projects to finish first, plus busy looking for a bigger house for my robots and my girlfriend moving it,looking at a 5 bedroom house ,one room to design and build my robots hope to see your progress on your design cant wait to get home sunday for my work trip got 2 robots waiting for many the SPC-101c EVER HEARD OF IT ,GOES FOR $2500 TO $3000 AND HARD TO FIND PAID $1000 THATS MY MOST IMPORTANT ROBOT DESIGN

well guys and JOSH leaving cleveland, ohio in 2 1/2 hors cant wait to get back and start hacking ROBOTS ,so last post

#21

Cool can't wait to get started!!!

#22

Email me kandyred@gmail.com Congratulations!

#23

Now that.he won the contest we get to see him start building these into his menacing tank

#24

Congrats! Your prize is on its way out , I hope you enjoy them and I look forward to the progress of your robot.

#25

my 2 robots are in,SPC-101C is a super cool robot,i see why its $3000 and HEROID robot looks in very good shape too, plastic dome has a few light scratches ,easy to remove @jSTARNE motors you had wont work for my QUADCOPTER ,so its great you found a new home for it

@IMRISAAC cant wait to see your progress on your robot, have little more work on my ROOMBA project,THEN a little on BROOKSTONE ROVER project then i cant wait to build my OMNIBOT 2000 project,JOSH has a couple of ideas using on mine, but i am adding alot more ,higher torgue, motor feedback and a lot more

#26

guess what came in the mail today.

#28

:) i busy this weekend so i might not be able to get started right away:) :)

#29

still havent forgotten about my pnumatic system. just very busy.

#30

Yea man ya disappeared on me! How is it going:) ?

#31

sorry ive been rebuilding the motor in my car so between that school and work ive been busy. also thought of another possible idea though along with the pnuematics,

You dive alot? Those are high rpm motors they may not work well in that situation , underwater props have a 6 times more aggressive pitch than regular props so they spin low rpm. Those motors are high amp high power but you don't want to put them in a completely sealed container they need air to pass through them , at least a little just to stay cool.
