Hey, Everyone,
I bought and old roomba on ebay and was able to get it running again. I'm having trouble linking it to my ez-b. I have a 4225 Scheduler version of the roomba and have made a patch cord per DJ's specifications. I can get the roomba to turn on but no other commands are followed. I read the discussions in the forum and tried cleaning the data port but no success. I've got the com port on 9 and the baud rate at 57600. I've attached the roomba to D0 on the ez-b.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Try dropping the baud rate to 9600
Thanks, Bret.
I gave it a try and then tried 19200 as well. Pressing any key on screen will turn on the roomba but I still can't get it to move.
If I don't get it to work, it's not the end of the world. (It still can clean ok
But I really would like to use it for a robotic platform.

Your old roomba probably needs a software update.
Thanks! I'll give that a try. If that doesn't work then I'm giving the Roomba back to my wife
You are a little Young to have a wife, aren't you?
Ha!Ha!
Fred has got all the things needed to update the OLD Roomba. He would probably let you pay only the shipping both ways. He is a pretty accommodating guy. I would ask him if I were you.
Thanks for your advice. I'll try to contact Fred in the near future...
(p.s. It was an arranged marriage
