Firmware Update To Allow Long Network Password

Hi.

One of my two Ez-B V4/2's will not connect to a network with a long encryption key.

One has  WiFi 3165 v2017.01.05.00 - This allows the long password/key. The other has  WiFi 3165 v2016.09.27.00 - This does not allow it. Is it possible to update the firmware? Where can I find the latest firmware? Ez-Builder isn't finding any updates.

I can't find it on here anywhere with keyword searching.

Thanks

Steve

If you are using Win 10 Click on the little windows "Start" icon in the bottom left corner of the taskbar. The scroll down and open the menu under Synthiam. You should see a list of devices you can upgrade the firmware. You will want to click on EZB Upgrade Firmware V4. Follow the instructions in the window.

I you don't have the menu I pointed to above then you will find the firmware upgrade program in the EZ-Robot Inc. folder on your computer. Search for: EZ-B Firmware Update v4.exe

Just for the record, I don't know if this will fix your issue.

Hi,

The Ez-Bs are right next to my PC. The first one flashed fine (the one that head the slightly newer firmware on). The other is giving me the following:

13/12/2019 09:11:56 - Packet Size: 1024 13/12/2019 09:11:56 - Waiting for trigger to send packet size 13/12/2019 09:11:59 - Error updating firmware. System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Do you have both EZB's on at the same time? If so turn everything off then reboot and restart everything. However leave the one EZB that seems to be working shut down. Maybe the working one is connected, hogging the program and not allowing the one needing updating to connect.

If this is not the case then reread the error message. It says:

Quote:

connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
Sorry, It's been a long time since I did a firmware upgrade. Is the program asking you to press a key to proceed?

Is the failing one a V4/1 or a V4/2?  Only the /2 can do an over the air firmware update.

If it indeed is a /2 version with 3165 in the version details, then it can be upgraded. Press the reset button on the ezb to set to defaults before upgrading. Perhaps something in the configuration is preventing the upgrade. Or... it’s become sentient and doesn’t want it. Either way, a good ol’ reset should fix things

Ok....it seems it didnt want to update using my USB Wifi adapter but when connecting to the other home wifi (after changing the key to a shorter one) it updated first time.

Something with the USB wifi adapter then. Strange.

As always, thanks everyone for the support and help!! Namaste.
