The Controller of the revolution JD robot that I purchased some months ago developed a fault and as a result a new Ez-b v4 controller was purchased. However, after setting up the new controller, my ARC would not connect although my computer is connected to the wifi of the controller. The ARC keeps popping an error that "this is not an Ez-b device" each time I initiate connection from the ARC. Here's the error code :

Also, I have reset the controller's WiFi too but to no avail. Can you help with any technical assistance to resolve this issue?

It is not the code, it is not the EZB4, it is you firewall or antivirus, turn down the anti-virus, and you will connect
Hello EZang60, I have disabled my antivirus but the error still persists. It is keeps reporting " this is not an EZ-B device". Please how else can this be resolved?
Are you sure you are connected to the EZ-B's WiFi and not your router? If you are connected to your router, before putting the EZ-B in client mode, it will give this error. See the connection troubleshooting tutorial linked above for more ideas.

@Erhijivwo Do you have a wired ethernet connection going to your computer? As Alan suggested, the EZ-B might be trying to connect to your router that shares the same IP address (192.168.1.1). Temporarily remove the wired connection and see if that fixes the issue.
Hello every one, thanks for your various responses but the controller is yet to work despite attempting all suggestions supplied.
Have you checked ezrobot’s website for how to use their product? they have tutorials and a FAQ page for connecting to their products
Does it make a startup sound when powered on? That’s a sure tell tale sign JD the ezb is damaged. Not making a startup sound when powered on means it’s broken
Are you sure that you’re connecting to the ezb WiFi? Have you followed the tutorials from ezrobot? There’s very detailed step by step tutorials to use the product. Also, every time you’re getting that connection message, there’s a button prompting if you’d like to view connection tutorial. Are you pressing YES and viewing the connection tutorial?
your first connection to JD was January 2018. The last connection was December 2018. There was a 8 month window where the jd was not used, so we know it used to work. I’m leaning toward not connecting to the WiFi. Also, first check if there’s a startup sound. And maybe reset the ezb
Getting EZ Robots connections, is so frustrating and ruins the whole experience. I had all this working a couple years back. But now no luck.
I am on Windows 10 All my Windows Firewalls Off. - This is pretty dangerous affair. Reset JD Robot. Power on and I Get a nice welcome message, suggesting I am going to have Fun, with a Flashing Blue Light. I can see EZ Transmitting on WiFi, at 192.168.1.2 - On my Android Tablet. I can even connect my Table to this connection. So it seems happy transmitting somewhere.
I CANNOT see this in Windows PC, because my PC I WIRED via Ethernet to my Router on 192.168.0.xx network. My PC does not have WiFi. So my PC cannot see any EZ to connect to. On my PC in ARC: I Try to scan across 192.168.1.0 --> 192.168.1.254 addresses in the Connection, but no IPs are found So I cannot get any connections to EZ on my PC
BTW There is no obvious "Learn" link section. This web site is really confused. Lots of Videos, presuming sunny day, it all works scenarios. More Trouble shooting Videos and Walk Through are required.
EZ Robots used to be fun. But the software remains too complicated, even after renaming it to ARC. After 5 years, why hasn't the software and firmware in EZ Robots been updated to connect into the domestic WiFi networks, and not create its own ?

Hi...in my build also i have a lot of confusion about this connection. I would like to understand how the actual network config works. I can log into my home network over VPN. I presume I could access the bot through this? Is the video compressed enough that I can view it over the internet?

This is a good tutorial but only works with EZB software. The ARC software doe not have the cog in the connection window to allow wifi access to the JD robot for renaming. I have a class of students and the list of EZB robots is too confusing unless they have unique names. Where can I find access to wifi on the JD in the ARC software?
You can alternately type 192.168.1.1 into a browser window when connected via AP mode.
