Hello,
I look at gethub it it say it supports window 8.1
"Supported Platforms
Ubuntu 16.04/18.04/20.04 LTS (1) . Kernel versions: 4.[4, 8,10,13,15], 4.16(4) , 4.18, 5.[0, 3, 4, 8].
Windows 10 (Build 15063 or later, 17763+ recommended)
Windows 8.1 (2)
Windows 7 (3)
Mac OS (High Sierra 10.13.2)
**Android 7, 8, 9,10(5) ,11
"
But when I try to install the Intel.RealSense.Viewer.exe it says my windows 8.1 is not supported. I'm I missing something?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
Edited: I’m using a Lenovo tablet running windows 8.1
Related Hardware EZ-B v4
I’m guessing Intel dropped support and didn’t update their information. Intel hasn’t been very great with the realsense. Lots of bugs still and incomplete sdk. Even the manual is missing a lot of information.
PS, if you have a licensed version of Windows 8.1, then you can upgrade for free to Windows 10. Just download the Windows Creation Tool and install windows 10. I'd format the drive first and do it from scratch, rather than an "upgrade".
Just FYI, that windows 8.1 was discontinued for mainstream support by Microsoft on January 9, 2018
Thanks DJ,
I was hoping I could have stayed with win8.1 but after re-reading the gethub if I get the D435i also. I would have to upgrade to win10 anyway. I will have to follow your steps you have to remove unwanted stuff on win10 to make it faster.
Thanks for the fast reply
