Dr. Sassenheim
Hello fellow roboticists my name is Quincy. I live in the Netherlands and Sassenheim is the pittoresque village i was born. I does sound like the name of a mad scientist so hence my nickname:)
I have little experience with robots with the features EZ robot features, so i'm anxiously awaiting my package to arrive. In my youth i used to take apart old electronics not knowing how it actually worked, but i was nevertheless curious.
I regained that curiosity and read a lot about robotics, electronics and micro-controllers. I've played some with the Arduino and I'm planning on building a cnc router with it.
So what are my plans with the EZ robot kit? Since i'm a fan of movie robots and have seen many splendid ones already on this forum, I've decided i will try to make a robot modeled after the Metal gear MKII.
It will feature
- a height and pan and tilt sensor head mounted with the cam. I'm planning to insert an RGB LED as well for status or emotion indication.
- a servo opened hatch. Since weapons or not allowed here it will become a drink cooling bay for some Dutch famous brand beer. (starts with H and ends with eineken;) ) I already ordered some peltier elements from ebay.
- i will try to implement a robotic snake arm thingy just like ingame. Inspired by the cardio arm surgeon robotic device, i think after some prototyping it should be manageable, if not then perhaps a robotic arm.
- movable display on the side for teleconference. -and the last but not least it will be a balancing robot. (on legs which should be height adjustable as well)
since this is a project with many difficult features, all help is welcome. Thankfully i do not have a deadline so i think it will be a good and fun learning experience:)

Welcome! I really dig your energy and creative ideas. I am excited to see what you will make
Welcome...
That looks like a hard one to build. GL with that. There is always lots of help here. The forum is one my favorite parts. :o)
Yea the forum 1000 percent makes a difference , Friends and support to keep your vision moving forward. Oh @ Dr S. Have you thought about adding a cannon like airsoft toy or you could even just have it be a laser just for fun. The snake arms lots of colleges are trying to work the bugs out of . I do like the game though. Ooooor you said something about beer , how about your arm being a spout to pour you beer , maybe it has a little pump inside and just press a button to disperse
