Unresolved Refund Issue With Ezrobot
A Warning Regarding My Recent Experience with ezrobot. Eleven years ago, I ordered a V3 from ezrobot, and everything went smoothly at that time. The customer service was excellent.
On November 27th, I placed an order for a V4 from ezrobot. Initially, it was backordered, which I didn't see as a major issue. However, after a month, I decided to cancel the order since the product was still unavailable. I received an email confirmation stating that my order was canceled.
The issue I've encountered is that I haven't been refunded the money billed to me on November 27th. I'm currently working with my bank to resolve this issue, as I view it as quite problematic. When DJ owned ezrobot, I had a much better experience, suggesting that there might have been changes in ownership.
I'm struggling to receive any communication from ezrobot regarding the refund process now that I am attempting to get my money back.
Please be cautious if you're considering making a purchase with ezrobot

Tim, that sounds like an unfortunate situation. And, thank you for the kind words regarding my leadership.
I wish there were something I could do to assist, but Synthiam is a different company that does not sell hardware and is not affiliated with ezrobot.
I hope it gets resolved, and I have a strong feeling that it will - and perhaps the delay is due to the holiday break. Fingers crossed for you.
Hi DJ
So i thought you started EZ-Robot back in the day ? It was when i first watched a video on instructables about wall-e that inspired me to build my own thus starting with an EZ-B V3.
I appreciate your response !!!
Thanks
Yeah, I started EZ-Robot, but sold the hardware division in 2018. We started Synthiam right after the sale of EZ-Robot so we could focus on the new software, ARC. I no longer wanted anything to do with hardware
. I wanted to focus on agnostic software to work with any robot hardware.
I'm sure ezrobot will come around - honestly, during the holiday season, I think most offices shut down or run at a minimum capacity. Also, one thing to note is that ezrobot has shifted focus toward the education market. So purchasing one off items I think is more challenging for their logistics. Probably better off using a reseller to purchase from.
Ok, that explains a lot. I new you started it.
And because i have been away from building robots for years I understand now why i see that ARC even supports Arduino !! I have been messing around with the ARC software and yeah it's sweet.
Love it
I'm glad to hear that, Tim! Thanks for the kind words.
Hi DJ, Just curious because I came across thig. So when you sold EZ Robot ( which I got hooked on it when I first seen an article online somewhere), did you sell it to a fellow partner at the time? or someone else you knew? To me, you will always be EZ-Robot to me
and Syntiam (formally EZscript-My favorite name personally)
The company's name was actually Synthiam. Only the hardware products were known as ezrobot. Synthiam sold the company's hardware division, ezrobot, to another company that was a large reseller of the product in the education market. Managing both hardware and software was getting too complicated and required focusing on only one or the other - not both. Our heart is in software.
there’s a saying "good at many, master of none". So we had to pick a direction and software was our choice
