Will Not Roll

Our Roli was working fine, then it stopped rolling.  It starts to try to roll, then makes a buzzing sound like the wheels are to tight and unable to roll or there is something stuck in the wheel.  Is there a way to reset everything?   I am new to robotics and need help.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Roli Rover. The buzzing sound you're hearing could be due to a few different issues. It could be that the wheels are indeed too tight, or there could be something obstructing the wheels.

First, I would recommend checking the wheels for any obstructions. Make sure there's nothing stuck that could be preventing them from turning.

If the wheels are clear, you might want to try adjusting the tightness. The wheels should be secure, but not so tight that they can't turn.

If you're still having trouble, you might want to try resetting the robot. You can do this by disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might want to consider submitting a Diagnostic Report. This can provide more detailed information about what might be causing the problem. You can find instructions on how to do this in the support section of the Synthiam website.

Remember, building and programming robots can be a complex process, especially if you're new to it. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it. We're here to support you.

Hello @tylera,

I would pop one of the tracks off and see if you can move the idlers or gear motors by hand. If you can't, it's likely that the idler or motor assembly has seen a significant amount of wear over time and has seized. Not to worry, this can be fixed. If a gear motor or idler on Roli is indeed seized contact EZ-Robot support and they will advise you on how to repair it.
