Wii Fit Board Control

I ran a few searches for Wii Fit boards and didn't see any specific topics.

Has anyone expressed an interest in adding the Wii Fit Board as a control? I can think of a few practical uses for one. I'm so new to this, I'm not sure I could pull any of them off, though. ;)

I would add it if you have some usage suggestions :)

:D Well...thinking big, if someone had a Wii remote, nunchuck, board, and a pair of VR glasses, they could practically make a fullbody interface with their robot...akin to Robot Jox...minus the horrible helmets and acting.

A little lower in the stratosphere of ideas, you could mount a platform to the top of your snowplow robot, with the wii fit board attached to it and a set of handlebars for stability, to make a pseudo-Segway.

I guess the main idea is to control directional movement by shifting your weight on the board or focusing your weight on one or more of the 4 sections.

I guess that was just two. :P

A, so assigning motion commands to it. Okay.

Would there be a point to adding servo control to it also? Would that be too difficult? I feel it would.

I hate to say there's no point just because I can't think of any reason. I suppose someone might want to just tap the board to activate a servo, but button taps are probably better suited to keyboards and controller buttons.

Although...just thinking out loud...it could potentially be used like yaw controls on an airplane. Maybe?

Hmm...you might be right on this one. Could be a situation where you put the code in place and no one uses it because it's not practical.
