Voice Recognition Error In Windows 7 Pro Without

Hello, I can not to operate, (in windows 7 pro), with the voice recognition of the new EZ-B v4 Developer Kit purchased. When I bought the kit, I have not read anywhere, (Technical requirements), that I would have to use, Windows 8, 8.1 or 10. But I have read many with this problem, it would be to understand how to proceed. Some pic. on my attached file.

I hope I never have to buy another computer. confused

Thanks for your help.

P.S. (Furthermore, in my win 7 pr 64 bit (italian release) on speech recognition I have this error: " your current default speech engine does not support this action at this time" .EZ_Builder.zip

Flashover,

ARC works on windows 7.

The error you are experienced is related to the windows 7 speech/audio settings.

Have you done the setup ?

This youtube video explains how:

There is a question mark (?) next to the close button (x). I would recommend pressing the question mark on the speech recognition to view the manual page. Here is a direct link: https://synthiam.com/Tutorials/Help.aspx?id=90

The speech recognition uses the Microsoft Windows engine. If the engine works in your regular Windows environment, then it will work in ARC. Use the tutorials built into Microsoft Windows to get your speech recognition working.

as ptp mentioned, ensure it works in Windows first.

Also, it's important to notice that Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft. It was deprecated in January 13, 2015. I would recommend updating your operating system to one that is not deprecated. You should not need to buy a new PC to do that - however a supported operating system is important for both security and usability.

Ptp and DJ Sures, thanks for your answers.

Ptp the answer correct is : ARC works on windows 7 English release! :)

https://support.microsoft.com/it-it/help/14213/windows-how-to-use-speech-recognition ( read the Note ).

Unfortunately, I can not run the setup, because Microsoft has decided that the Italian language did not deserve to be included in the language list. In addition, on win 7 pro, I cannot put the English language by default.

DJ Sures, The attempt that you advise me, gives me an error, because my Win 7 pro, does not have the package of English. I understand also your advice, but in my computer there is not only EZ_Builder but many software for work, and some of these, do not work with Windows 10.;) Two questions: Do you know if Windows 8.1 supports all languages? In that case,I will buy a laptop just to ez_builder, otherwise I think that I will not be able to use my kit with speech recognition. Second question: in the future, there will be a release for linux? Thank you .

There are no plans for Linux support.

Windows 8 and 8.1 supports all languages. I use Windows 8.1 currently. I do not use Windows 10 because I don't find it to be very attractive UI.

I had the idea that windows speech recognition can support many more languages ...

windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17208/windows-10-use-speech-recognition

windows 8: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14213/windows-how-to-use-speech-recognition

but i'm not sure anymore...

it seems Italian is not available neither on windows 8.x or windows 10

Quote:

Speech Recognition is only available for the following languages: English (United States and United Kingdom), French, German, Japanese, Mandarin (Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional), and Spanish.

If you don't want to buy another laptop, you could run an English version of Windows 7 - 10 in a virtual machine on your existing machine as long as the specs are pretty good (speech recognition is one of the most cpu intensive tasks your computer can do).

Thank you all for you for your help. You have been very kind. Alan, great suggestion. I had not thought at the virtual machine. I think I'll do a set of aid. An "old" PC with a good CPU and Winzoz 8.1 English release.

Thanks at all!
