Trouble Connection With B4

I purchased my first development kit. I'm having trouble to connect to my network,I watched the tutorial online and contacted tech support for help. I downloaded the software on my laptop ASUS Windows 10. I clicked my network and saw ez b 4 with a synbol of a shield protection and other users, then I clicked ez b for connection. I got a response" can't connect to this network" i reseted the ez b4 by pushing the pin bottom with a pen and turned off the window defender anti spyware. I tried the procedure again i got the same message" can't connect to this network." I was advised by support group to turn off The network and try to install the connection i still got the same message.I have tried to connect with the other users on my network and I didn't have any problem. Please help!

First off, what is giving you the "I can't connect to this network error"? The computer or the ez-b.

Second off, if your directly connecting to the ez-b your local area network(router) should have nothing to do with it. If your trying to connect the EZ-b to your network, you should see my tutorials.

Follow these tutorials first. Then report back. MazeHorizonTech's connection tutorial

I washed your YouTube video and tried the procedures several times with no result. I got the same message"can't connect to this network" for the way your YouTube showed to install the AP mode. Thanks for trying to help me

  1. What do you mean you were advised by support to "turn off network"? What network did you turn off?

  2. Does your EZ-B make a bootup chime sound when powered on?

  3. Does the EZ-B make a "resetting" voice when you press the reset button?

  4. Where is the "Can't connect to this network" display? Is this something that you are seeing in the web browser or WiFI network list?

Lastly, perhaps it would be useful to submit a diagnostic report. Please let me know once you have submitted the diagnostic report. Here are instructions: https://synthiam.com/Tutorials/Help.aspx?id=220

DJ,

Thank you for taking your time to help me with my new adventure.

1A) I was advised by an EZ-Robot technical support to turn off the house's
router and I turned it off as you could see in one of the attachments JPG file shown the ez-b4 wifi without the house's wifi "Joe"

2a) Yes, it makes a boot up chime sound when powered one.

3a) Yes, it make a resetting voice when pushed the reset bottom.

4a I attached pictures as JPG file that showed the message " can't connect to this network" under the wifi of EZ-B v4

Excellent - sounds like the ezb is functioning. We now need to find what program is preventing windows from connecting to it. Can you submit a diagnostic report and let me know once you have? Here's the link again: https://synthiam.com/Tutorials/Help.aspx?id=220

I notice you have the following installed..

[feature] McAfee LiveSafe Internet Security [/feature]

Although security software is great for protecting you from viruses - sometimes it protects your from things you want to do. Do not uninstall the software, however, look for a disable option for it. The windows defender screenshot that you posted above earlier does not disable the McAfee software, i don't believe.

Additionally, i notice the network driver is

[feature] Ralink RT2860 Wireless LAN Card [/feature]

Depending on the version of the EZ-B, the first initial release of the EZ-B was incompatible with a bug in the RaLink WiFi driver. Can you connect to the EZ-B with a phone over WiFi and type in this website url on the phone once connected: http://192.168.1.1

That should load the EZ-B web server on the phone. I'd like you to look on the web server main page and tell me what version is displayed. It will help to see if the EZ-B is incompatible with the RaLink driver. There is a work-around if that is the case.

So, to recap

  1. Try disabling McAffee Internet Security

  2. If that doesn't work, let me know the version of the EZ-B by viewing the web server on your phone

I disable the McAffee Internet Security with the different option on the laptop and tried to connect the EZ- b to the network. I got the same message " can't connect to this network"

I was able to connect the EZ-b to the web sever on my phone. the main page showed EZ-B v4 Wi-Fi robot controller

If you can connect via your phone... flip the ezb4 into client mode... You will (should) be able to now connect to it through your router with your laptop....
