Switch And Connector Missing From Adventurebot Body

User-inserted image

I recently received a selection of EZ-Robot parts, including the AdventureBot octagonal body, and the ez-b v4 WiFi Robot Controller, as well as all the parts, except the dome needed to build AdventureBot (and more). I started going through the AdventureBot tutorial videos, and when I got to the part where I was supposed to flip the robot over and turn on the power switch, I noticed I had no power switch. I opened up the shell only to find, aside from the battery, there are no electronics inside. The connector pin is missing, as is the switch, and any integrated circuitry that my sit between the two. I looked through forums and product listings to see whether this assembly is something I can purchase separately, but it appears that is not the case. I am wondering, therefore, what should I do given that I currently cannot build any useable robots without using the DIY power base, which tethers me to a wall socket?

Thank you,

Nick

That would be part of your battery order - not a robot. Can you view your order invoice to see if there were any batteries ordered? This is because when a battery is ordered, it is included in a plastic shroud (in this case an old dodecagon body)

So if you ordered an extra battery, it would be included in a dodecagon body

DJ,

You appear to be correct. It was a large order, so I clearly forgot some of the particulars. Would the LiPo Battery Harness be the fastest way to untether the Power Base? If so, it seems like I should be able to remove the Power Base electronics, place it in that old dodecagon body, and be just fine. I wouldn't have a power switch, but I can work around that.

Thanks again,

Nick

DJ, is this still the going on where if we order a battery it comes in a dodecagon body?

DJ,

Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I'll be working a solution with the battery harness, and some 3D printed parts.

Justin, yeah - it’s because dhl doesn’t let us ship LiPo batteries unless they’re in a product. So we use old dodecagon bodies to hold the LiPo in a plastic protective housing.
