Setting Up Jd

I am having problems with JD. I charged him up for 2 hours, until the green light went out on the blue Balancer Charger. When I turn him on the following happens:

  1. Light blue light appears in lower left of EZB v4.
  2. The light turns green and blinks about three times
  3. A red light appears for awhile in the upper left
  4. The lower left light turns dark blue and blinks slowly
  5. There is no sound or welcome message

To try to connect him to my computer I do the following on a Windows 7 PC:

  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Open the Network and Sharing Center
  3. Select Add a wireless device to the network
  4. The Add a Device dialogue box opens, but nothing shows up to select.

Any idea what is going wrong with either of these processes? I feel like I can work with the ARC software, but can't move forward until JD talks to me... :(

It sounds like your audio is not working on the EZ-B v4 - we have had a report of another user with a similar issue. You can Contact Us to have the ez-b v4 replaced. Please reference the URL to this thread to avoid any delays. To copy the URL, move your mouse to the address bar of your browser, that's where the www.ez-robot is. Highlight the contents within the address bar and right click to select COPY. When using the Contact Us form, right click in the text field and press PASTE. This is similar to how you would copy and paste in a document.

In the meantime, it will still work. The reason you are unable to connect is because the details of your connection method is not how you connect to a wireless network.

Consult the LEARN section for help - specifically how to connect to the EZ-B v4 and here is the video. Still recommend you use the LEARN section to learn how to use the features of the ez-b v4.

To learn more about Windows and how to connect to WiFi networks, i'm certain there is plenty of assistance using Google. It's a pretty easy process, however. You click the WIFI icon in the system tray which is next to the clock. The list of wifi networks will appear. Next, you click the wifi network you wish to connect too. In this case, the EZ-B will be called EZ-B.

Other than that, the LEARN section will help you. Press the LEARN button from the top of this website to access the LEARN section.

There will be plenty of new videos appearing over the next few weeks. Specifically a complete assembly walk-through on JD, Six and Roli.

OK, I actually just made some progress. To connect to my computer I went to the internet bars on the lower right end of my windows task bar, and this time EZ-B v4 showed up, so I disconnected from my router and connected to my EZ-B. But when I ran ARC it would not recognize the EZ-B, and after a scan did not find an IP address. It turned out that I was still connected to the internet through an Ethernet connection. When I disconnected the cord and rebooted ARC I did connect to JD!

However, I used the diagnostic buttons to send a sound to the EZ-B, and each time I hit the button in the ARC software the red light in the upper left side of the EZ-B lights up and I get no sound. So no sound and the red light seem related, both with this test and when it is booting up. Should I hit the "reboot the EZ-B" button in the ARC software? It asked me if I was sure, and I wasn't, so I didn't. Does anyone know what the red light means, and how to correct the error?

I am going back to watch the video some more. It looks like I can make the EZ-B a client instead of a server, and then I can use the internet and the EZ-B at the same time.

Please press the LEARN button from the top of this website. That will provide you with many videos that walk you through the process. We will have many more videos in the upcoming weeks. Currently the videos that are in the LEARN section will help you understand how to connect to your EZ-B v4.

They will also explain the difference between modes. They will also explain what "Reset ez-b" means.

You will need to Contact Us to have your EZ-B v4 replaced because the audio is not working. This has happened before with another user and we have updated our manufacturing assembly to not let it happen again.

When using the Contact Us, ensure you provide the URL to this thread. I have written instructions on how to copy and paste the URL in my previous post. Scroll up to locate my previous post and read the contents.

Oops - I didn't see the other posts before sending mine! My problem is that even though I am familiar with computers, I am using Windows 7 and the example is using Windows 8. Since they look completely different, I didn't know how to translate the example into what I am familiar with. So I went into excruciating detail in case someone else is having the same types of problems.

I will check with tech support tomorrow to see if I need to replace my EZ-B. The error seems pretty clear. In the meantime, I will try the reboot in case that solves the problem.

PS - Thanks DJ, you are working very late!

You will not need to reset or reboot the EZ-B.

Contact Us to have the ez-b replaced because the audio is not working. Ensure you copy and paste the URL of this message so it will save you time in having it replaced.

As for understanding what Reboot or Reset means and the difference, consult the LEARN section of this website. The LEARN menu option is located at the top of the website. There will be plenty of more videos in the upcoming few weeks:) We're working on them and a new LEARN section as well.

I sleep weird hours :)
