I'm talking about the green and black plug that you connect to the battery holder. By default is the center positive or negative?
Sorry to ask such a basic question but, I tried searching and couldn't find the answer.

Seems that I remember positive.
Yes it is positive.
It's also referred to as a 2.1mm plug.
