Oculus VR Script Is Not Saving Properly

I am currently using the Oculus Virtual robot skill in Synthiam ARC.

I attempted to configure the A, B, X, and Y buttons on both the left and right Oculus controllers. I wrote a script for each button, executed them, and they worked as expected. However, after saving the configuration, I noticed that the button functionality is no longer working. Upon reopening the button scripts, I found that they are all empty. It seems like the scripts are not being saved properly. Could you help me understand why this issue is occurring and how I can resolve it?

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with saving scripts in the Oculus Virtual robot skill on your Raspberry Pi. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

  1. Check for Updates:

    • Ensure that you have the latest version of ARC installed. Sometimes, issues like these are resolved in newer updates. You can check for updates within ARC by navigating to the settings or help menu.
  2. Permissions:

    • Make sure that ARC has the necessary permissions to write to the configuration files. This can sometimes be an issue on systems like Raspberry Pi, where file permissions can be restrictive.
  3. Save Process:

    • After writing your script, ensure you are following the correct process to save it. Double-check that you are clicking the "Save" button after editing your scripts.
  4. Configuration File:

    • Check if the configuration file is being saved correctly. You can do this by navigating to the directory where ARC saves its configuration files and checking if the file is being updated when you save your scripts.
  5. Error Logs:

    • Look for any error messages or logs that might indicate why the scripts are not being saved. These logs can often provide clues about what might be going wrong.
  6. Recreate the Issue:

    • Try to recreate the issue by writing a simple script, saving it, and then reopening it to see if it persists. This can help determine if the problem is with specific scripts or a general issue.
  7. Reinstall ARC:

    • If the issue persists, consider reinstalling ARC. This can sometimes resolve issues related to corrupted installations.
  8. Contact Community:

    • If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to the Synthiam community for additional support. They might have encountered similar issues and can offer solutions.

If you need further assistance with any of these steps, feel free to ask!
