I just received my Wall-e Toy and took it apart. I started to add some servos, and thought to try the Builder Project Examples. Wall-e big. I tested the Dance and it worked. I tried the Voice Recognition and it didn't respond. I have Windows 8 and tested my Voice Recognition. It works well on the computer but not in the builder. Like I said I'm new to Robotics and trying to learn the basics. Any Help will be appreciated.
Voice recognition uses Windows SAPI, therefore if it works in windows it should work in ARC.
Check it is enabled. Also carry out the required amount of training in Windows for it to learn your voice.
And welcome to the site
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give it a try.
It worked Thanks again. I'll probably be asking many more.
Hi , just be sure to ask the question in the subject / thread title as someone with the same question would have trouble finding this answer
Kind of confused as to what you mean jstarne1. New to a lot of things. Maybe some insight. I do have another question. I have the base of my Wall-e together with modified servo's. I tested the forward, reverse, right and left. All work except the forward track. It is very erratic, meaning it goes back and forth, left and right on its own. Any help again will be great. Thanks
I think what Josh is saying is to put the question you have in the subject line rather than just "new to robots" as this will attract more people with the right knowledge.
With the Wall-E, have you got any ping or IR sensors attached for object avoidance? If you are using the example Wall-E I believe it has the radar and it's set to only work when moving forwards. With no sensor attached it will think there is an object and therefore reverse and turn to avoid it.
No Ping or IR sensors attached yet. I am using the Wall-E Example. I'll try it without the example and see, thanks. Should I open a new thread after this?
Just pause any Ultrasonic controls (radar, distance etc) and see if that solves it. I'd imagine it will if you are using the example without the sensor attached (as with no sensor it will report 0 which thinks there is something in front of it).
Any new questions yes, start a new thread. It helps others find the same information when they search and it also directs the correct people to the topic.
You did it again. Right on the money, went well this time. Next question will be a new thread. Thanks. You make it enjoyable to go ahead.
