Hello, Received the kit a week ago. Updated the firmware, then connected over bluetooth. Attached the standard and modified servos to the motherboard. From the ARC tried to get the servos work by releasing and trying again changing from 0-100 on vertical servo controller. The four standard servos do not rotate. The modified servos working fine.
On the standard servos. i can hear the motor spinning but the little white part on the top is not spinning.
What is to be done?
Contact Us and give us your Order Number. We will send you replacement servos. Sorry for the trouble - we had a batch of bad servos which affected many orders. Thanks for understanding!
Hi Dj,
Looks like I may have a similar problem, just checking the servo's now and so far one doesn't work at all, the second one i've tried spins internally but not the top. I'll go through each one in the kit I received this past monday and email Alan?
Thanks
Wayne
It sounds like the motor inside may have slipped down a bit. In a pinch you could try removing the screws and the plastic base on the bottom of the servo. Then push the motor back up into the case a little further... you may need to stick a small piece of foam rubber or something on the end of the motor to keep it from sliding back down. I had a micro servo that was like this and that is what I did. As long as the gears are not rounded or stripped from prior usage attempts (or other manufacturing defect), this should work.
For some reason it's much more then that, none of the servos are working at all and not sure why. I've even tried reinstalling the software and updating the firmware. But, there doesn't seem to be any power going to the servo's. I've been waiting for a response for a few days now from support.
@nonsonic, check your junk mail folder if you haven't heard back - otherwise if a few days means yesterday, it is the weekend
Do you have a volt meter? Is there power between the GND and +5 pins of the EZ-B?
Hi DJ,
I don't have a volt meter just yet, at first when the good servo's connected I heard a small sound coming from the servo's getting power at least on the ones that did work. Now I don't hear that sound on any of them and for a while the blue light stopped working when I plugged in the battery box that was included in the kit. After a few separate tries it the bluelight started blinking again and I was able to connect to the EZB but the servo's are still not working.
If you have a led laying around you could use that to check there is power. Long lead on a led is always positive. Dont hold it there just touch a second to test each port. This is a improper way but should work fine. The reason I say dont hold your led on it is the led could get hot and burn up. Be sure , be sure , be sure not to short the board ( touching something metal to both pos and neg pin). To be safer you could connect servo ext cable red and black wires to pos and neg on the servo cable. Then plug into each port. If it lights port is working.
Hello I love ez-robot ,then open in kits .Everything is okay ,but Distance Sensor and Continuous Rotation servo not working
Please advice me what to do ...or replacement
Thanks
