I am trying to use the adventure bot and every time i press the stop button on the mobile app or the pc it will lose wifi make the sound and restart. only when the camera and two servos are plugged in. when i only have one servo it works ok. i can start and stop the ez servo all day long. i have checked the voltage upon startup and during use. it does not drop significantly. so its not a brownout due to power supply. i am also using the battery pack that came with the ARC dev kit. and the ezrobot 360 servos that came in that kit.
i also checked the power pins and wifi saturation . its not either of these.
what am i missing?
I don't think your power supply is giving enough amps. Try a better power supply like the LiPo's sold here or higher quality AA batteries.
I'm using the one supplied in the kit. 6xAA
I don't think that's going to work for you, especially if you're running the camera. Does it work with fresh batteries?
No, and it has the power to run everything for a long time. But as soon as I push the stop button that is when it has the issue
Hmmmm, Is there anything in your scripting that could be tied to that? What do you have in your "Stop" command?
I don't know I did not check it I just downloaded the app
The adventurebot has it's own battery and uses a 7.4v LiPo, which is enough juice for the job. However, it sounds like you are not using the LiPo battery for the adventure bot.
The charge of the 6xAA may not be enough juice for the job. When you press the STOP button, the servos are receiving a jolt of reverse current, which the batteries are not able to compensate and thus causing a brown-out, which is in the form of a reset.
You can tell the difference between a reset and a disconnect by the sound the EZ-B makes.
What voltage are you seeing with the batteries? I would try brand new batteries, as the ones currently installed are causing a brownout. This is a clear case due to the fact that it works with 1 servo, but not with 2 servos. More servos = more power consumption.
New batteries and you will be good to go
