L298 Battery Size

So what batteries are people using to power their L298 and motors? Currently using the 6 AA battery pack that's included in the kit. I think some more juice would definitely give my motors some more kick.

Be more specific as to what you have... most of us are powering motors on 12 volts because you get much more torque at the same speed. If you want to have a ez system that you can power servos direct from battery as well 6v is fine. Could you post more about your project? Thanks - Josh S

I'm just running small DC motors off an L298. Just looking to see what other people are using for power sources.

Most common batteries are sealed lead acid. 6 volt battery model 645ub 4.5 ah . For 12v the most common is the 12v 7 ah rectangle.

Can you recommend a good website to purchase a 12V battery for this application? Also, what charger would you recommend for the battery?
