Hello we are purchasing JD and Six for our libraries and I'm wanting to find out what the difference is between using iPads or laptops with the robots? We have easy access to iPads at our libraries but would need to purchase some more laptops if needed. Can anyone help with informing me about the differences between using the robots with PCs compared to iPads?
Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks from Jen
Hi! If you contact us, someone from education sales can assist better than I can for additional needs. However, this question I can answer quite easily.
The mobile app has Blockly and RoboScratch for programming. While both programming systems are more capable than competitive products, the real power is from using a pc.
The Robot Program episodes focus mainly on using a pc, although there are some episodes that you can accomplish with mobile.
It really depends on what your goal is with the robots for education. While some schools use tablets/mobile only, the majority of institutions use the pc version.
The pc version allows creating apps. Creating more complex animations. 3D printing. Far more advanced programming. And a pile more.
