Hi Im new here. Ive been fascinated by robotics and micro assembly line stuff for 20 years. I have a few Arduino projects in mind, but when I saw the EZ-Robot environment I quickly brought the complete kit 2 grippers and 6 axis arm. I'm so excited my order is now in the shipping stage.
What I'm wondering is; with the glyph software modual is it possible to zoom in and read alpha numeric characters such as a prescription bottle, part number or key number or word?
Im thinking out loud.
- I would need to Identify shape and color first like a pill bottle.
- Then identify the numeric code region on the label. rotate or adjust as needed.
- Then zoom in center and scan printed numbers appx 1.5 mm high. one char at a time to build a char string or image map. (probably 6 chars)
- compare the string to a table of numbers or words.
- if there is a match then
- do some mechanical function like open the bottle dispense 1 pill. or pick a part and place it, or go to the fridge and get the cheese.
any and all ideas are appreciated.
Larry
I don't think that is available yet. But, that I have always thought would be AMAZING! I am sure at some future point, there will be a chip that does it automatically. Can't wait for that to happen. In the mean time, there will be lots of other GREAT features coming out soon if I know The EZ-Robot Team.

Hey "looker" welcome to the forum. There are builders here who started earlier this year and are.already on their.second and third robot. There's lots you can do. Trust me you can get your robot to do all kinds of things. you may not even need glyphs. Read all the tutorials and watch all the.videos and read the manual. That will really spark some ideas. There is a lot of knowledge and experience in this forum. Welcome!...IM josh , IM working.on the Jarvis personal robot and vacuum project.
You should study the vacuum balloon gripper , google it. It's cheap and simple. Just coffee.grounds.in a.balloon and air pump sucks the air out to grip all different shape objects. You could put this on the tip of your.existing arm or a second arm just to.grab off.shaped objects.
Thanks for the tip I watched the youtoob video on the vacuum balloon gripper very impressive neat idea.
Yep I have plans to do as many of the tutorials as I can before I ask too many questions. I have watched most all the tutorials and read about half of the manual so far.
Thanks for the information and the welcome.
I want to also Welcome you. Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to welcome people. But, you are Welcome here.
