Just wondering if android device like a powerful tablet could run the program itself without a pc or windows 7? Otherwise I'm gonna buy a embedded bord that way I can take it anywhere

Simple answer is no, ARC requires Windows.

There was talk of android and iOS versions but I believe these lead to a dead end for one reason or another.

Embeded Pico-ITX boards are an option a lot of people go for. You could also use a Windows 7/8 tablet. Or even a small netbook depending on the size of your build.

Needs to be size of pico itx like 4.5" I haven't look at tablets so wil have to look into that and got to make sure there powerful enough and that means more $$
