That would be a neat robot! You are right, the range of bluetooth would be limiting for that application.

I would recommend XBee instead of WIFI. Adding an XBee interface to the EZ-B is very easy. We could arrange a custom price for you with an XBee module attached to the EZ-B, if you would like?

I don't know the cost of that yet, but let me know if you are interested and we'll put something together for you

Unfortunately XBee is not usual in Germany. So it would not solve my problem. And I have an already running wifi installation in my house...

Hook up an Xbee to the ARC. and select the com port It should be the same method as using bluetooth

@donesvarc we attemtped in march to do that, but there was no demand so we decided to not offer custom one-off's. The XBee module can be purchased through Solarbotics, or many other places. It's really easy to connect - it merely needs power, gnd, rx and tx .. Simply connect to the communication header where the bluetooth module currently sits. Remove the bluetooth module and use the communication header - voila
