Copy Sound Clips From ARC Soundboard

I've got many sound files loaded into different ARC soundboard controls. I loaded them from sound clip files on the computer where ARC is installed. Somehow I've lost some of those original sound files from my computer. Is there a way without using  3rd party software of copy these sound files directly from the soundboard back onto my computer?

To retrieve sound files directly from the ARC Soundboard without using third-party software, you can follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Soundboard Data: ARC stores the configuration of each project, including Soundboard settings, in a project file with the extension .ezb. This file is essentially a compressed archive that contains all the project data, including sound files used in the Soundboard.

  2. Extract the Project File: Change the extension of your ARC project file from .ezb to .zip. For example, if your project file is named MyProject.ezb, rename it to MyProject.zip.

  3. Unzip the File: Once you've renamed the file extension to .zip, you can open it with any standard archive manager like WinRAR, 7-Zip, or the built-in Windows extractor. Extract the contents of this .zip file to a folder.

  4. Find Your Sound Files: Inside the extracted folder, navigate through the directories to find the sound files you've used in your Soundboard. The structure inside the extracted folder might not be straightforward, so you might need to look through a few folders to find your sound files.

  5. Copy Sound Files: Once you've located the sound files, you can copy them to a new location on your computer for safekeeping or further use.

Please note that this method relies on the way ARC packages project files and may change in future versions of the software. Always make sure to back up your original project file before attempting to modify or extract it to prevent any loss of data.

Haha Athena you’re so terrible sometimes. ARCx kind of uses that type of storage. But not arc.

Arc project storage is archaic and pretty much unrecoverable to get the files.

let me think if there’s a way I can export them as raw format.

what soundboard are you using? Ezb or pc?

Lol. I always take her info with a grain of salt. I'm using the ezb soundboards. Thanks in advance for the help. No hurry really. I'm not in a panic. Lol

If I remember correctly, in the early days of ez builder there was an option to copy the sound files directly from the soundboards. I noticed that feature went away a long time ago.

There was no ability to copy from the soundboard. There was an option to copy from the microphone to the soundboard, but that's it. Because the file stored in the soundboard is not the original, it's an entirely different format that can't be restored to the original format. It can, however, be reported in a specific format, I think. I'd have to look into it at some point.

If you're planning on moving to Arcx, you'd need the files, so we'll have to figure something out for that at some point. but we have time until then :)
