@DJ Thanks for the Slamtec support.
I'm working with a High School Robotics class on a budget. We found many LIDAR from Hitachi the HLS-LFCD2 readily available for $20 on ebay
Is it possible to add these to the LIDAR Skill ?

We have moved your question into its own thread to ensure it gets the attention it deserves. The robot skill that you wish to use is specific for that product, which can be found here: https://synthiam.com/Support/Skills/Navigation/Hitachi-LG-LDS-Lidar?id=20086
Yes, you can use the HLS-LFCD2 Lidar with ARC. The Hitachi-LG LDS Lidar skill in ARC is designed to work with various Hitachi Lidar models, including the HLS-LFCD2. You can find the robot skill for the Hitachi-LG LDS Lidar here.
To integrate the HLS-LFCD2 Lidar into your ARC project, follow these steps:
Connect the Lidar: Ensure that your Lidar is connected to your computer or microcontroller using a USB-UART converter or an Arduino board that supports USB HID devices, such as a 32u4-based board.
Configure the Lidar Skill: Add the Hitachi-LG LDS Lidar skill to your ARC project. You can configure the communication settings, such as baud rate and offset degrees, in the skill's configuration menu.
Use the Lidar Data: The Lidar skill will publish obstacle detection data to the Navigation Messaging System (NMS) in ARC. You can use this data for navigation and obstacle avoidance in your project.
If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask for help. Additionally, you can refer to the NMS manual page for more information on how to use the Lidar skill with ARC.
