Adafruit 8x8 Bicolour (not RGB) LED Array
A quick question I hope someone can help me with. I know the Adafruit 8x8 single colour LED arrays can be used with ARC and the v4, but does this also include the Adafruit 8x8 Bicolour LED arrays?
I've had a look through the forum but couldn't find a definitive "Yes" or "No" answer for these particular arrays (unless I missed it).
Thanks.
yes they do work but it only displays in green the default colour

Thank you for the link @bborastero. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I hope DJ adds support for the different colours soon, although I know himself and the guys are busy.
Thanks again.
Glad I could help. I'm making a LED matrix face for an Emiglio robot with two white 8x8 matrices for eyes controlled via EZB, but I got three bi-colour matrices for the mouth and had to revert to using an Arduino for the lips. Here’s a video and a photo of my progress. Eventually I want to get a wave shield for the Arduino to lipsink to sound and try to slave the Aruino to the EZB, I know it can be done and I’ll be asking for help when I’m ready. As you said the guys at EZ Robot are extremely busy and I’ve got too many projects on the go as it is.
Thanks for the video and photo. They look really effective with what you have done. Nicely done.
@bborastero
How did you make the lips? Very interested in hearing how it was done.
https://learn.adafruit.com/animating-multiple-led-backpacks/ideas this is where I got it from. the mistake I made was mixing bi-colour and single colour matrices, the code is downloadable from adafruit
think I'll be scrapping the arduino stuff and wait untill the new EZ 8x8s are ready blush
My thoughts exactly.
