There have been a couple of reports that it will run on WINE however the majority of people run it on Windows 7 or Windows 8 to avoid any problems.

Advise, as blunt as it may sound, run it on Windows 7 or Windows 8

For what we are trying to do (Use it with a rasberry pi micro computer) it wont work that well less we are running a 64GB SD card to keep the OS and the VM for windows and on top of that the VM would be outrageous in terms of system resources, and there is no option for windows on ARM I don't think.

Eh so now you know why I am hell bent on keeping it Linux.

The Raspberry Pi is not good enough for ARC.

You are pretty much limited to the SDK and looking at the EZ-OpenBot project. The hardware spec on the Pi is not near good enough for the processing power ARC requires and nor will it ever be.

@codemonkey , there are lots of mini itx pc boards and you can use a laptop 2.5 inch data for a really small package. That's just for a direct comparison to raspberry ok. ARM based tablets /pc don't have the power you will want and the windows RT / ARM devices honestly are very costly anyways. A second more common option is an ACER Netbook or ACER W3 7" windows tablet that uses the x86 standards. We all have had success with them and are lower cost solutions.
