ARC Software

Evening All

I have just started using my software and it appears there are significant differences between it and the tutorials ,of which I am sure I will work out my self but it will take me longer.

My second question is that when I try to use the " Virtual Robot " function and right click and then change image, I am taken to a file that only contains the ARC Logo and an empty folder.............. Am I being a Dollop

For the first part, there was recently a user interface re-write that changes a lot of how ARC looks, but all of the functionality in the tutorials is still there, if somewhat different places.

Someone else will need to help with the second part. I haven't used that feature yet. I think though that it is expecting you to provide an image file of your robot or robot part you want to use.

Dalek, the only difference is the Add Control menu is now a popup rather than a drop down.:) Due to the slight change in Adding Controls (from menu to popup), we see no reason to re-create all 180 tutorial videos :)

The Virtual Robot image is the background image. And you would require a picture to select from. A photo of your robot. The tutorial video for the Virtual Robot explains how to use it. :)

Every control has a ? next to the X. If you press the ? button, you will be directed to a tutorial/help page for that control.

I recommend you begin by clicking on Tutorials from the top of this webpage. Follow each tutorial step until the end. That will help you :)

Wow thats fast service to get a reply.

It was the add servo that I was specifically refering to where there does not appear to be a slider control generated on screen although I am able to move the servo, also the servo position is shown as a percentage which is better

The slider has been replaced, simply click and drag over the position number (you'll see the mouse pointer change to the symbol) - another minor change with the GUI change.

It's all pretty easy to figure out, just play with it and if there is anything you can't work out there is always help on this forum.
