Ya, I saw it happen once about a couple of hours or so ago. I was in the middle of restarting ARC and I got the same message. It kinda scared me as I thought I may have lost all my work. Then I checked this forum and it was down also so I knew we were ok. I took a deep breath, took a break and when I came back in an hour everything was up and running. So it's not just you.
Oh you can thank Microsoft for that! The server had updates piling up and it took absolutely forever. Normally it’s done on weekends so we only do one server at a time. We ensure the Pro subscription query system is always online. But the website is a bit lower priority so it took more time to come up.
We also rolled out a few updates at the same time for ARCx.
funny you noticed because we schedule stuff like this on the lowest usage time of the day and week. We used to do it at night but there’s significant usage from over sea time zones - I think they’re mostly schools. Lots of European schools and Australia.
Thanks for the explanation @DJ. I only noticed you guys being down because when I restarted my robot along with it's onboard computer, it wouldn't start ARC (that also automatically starts my project). It posted a error message saying I needed a Pro subscription (which I have) to use my account and start up ARC. ARC must go online and check it's subscription status each time it starts up. ARC popped up a message window wanting me to either go to the website and fix my subscription or shut down ARC. When I clicked on the button to take me to the website I got the message that WiinterU posted above. That's when I figured out the site was down. I had no way to start ARC.
I have a couple questions that kind of worry me; If something unthinkable happens to Synthiam's servers for an extended time, will my robot not be able to use ARC and run? Is there a way to bypass that subscription check (if that's what kept ARC from starting when your server was upgrading) and let ARC run my robot? If so what limitations will ARC have then?
The stars must have aligned for you to experience that - a rare occurrence! read more: synthiam.com/Support/Install/subscription-plans/license-cache
Okay, understood. I guess it was a odd thing that happened based on how the system works. It was just a little troubling when ARC would not open after many attempts. They couldn't get ARC to reopen until after your website was up. At least that's what appeared to have happened. Thanks for the explanation.
