EZ-B On Your TV!

That's right, the EZ-B now has TellyMate support. The TellyMate board is an add-on you may purchase from most online electronic hobby supply shops. The tutorial provides a direct link to purchase from HVW Tech.

The TellyMate will interface the EZ-B with your Television. You will be able to output ascii text directly to the TV screen. This will come in handy for robots that will sport larger LCD TV's. Get a LCD from a cheap portable DVD player and attach it to your robot with the TellyMate and EZ-B. Sweet!

DJ i look at your tutorial on using tellymate with EZB and loved the idea, but question is how do you use it.

I went to your link where it says read full article but no info on tellymate

I JUST ordered one sparkfun and would like to get more info on how to use it.

That post is from 2010, before ARC existed. The Telemate is part of the EZ-SDK. However, it's easy to use in ARC. Simply reference the manual and use the EZ-Script SendSerial() command

@jstarne1 - Did you ever get a TellyMate? The TellyMate looks simple to get up and running compared to a serial 2x16 LCD module.

You just connect it to any TV or LCD-screen that supports RCA-style jacks for video signal, right?
And the other end to any EZ-B digital serial port to send serial commands?

Anyone else have any experience to share using a TellyMate with EZ-B? Love to hear about it. Thanks!
