Salvaging Parts?

I have old gaming consoles that dont read disks anymore, i was wondering if the disk spinner or the camera motor could be used for a claw machines x-y axis, or the claw open and close motor or maybe the up and down one? Any info on parts is appreciated. Also, im on a budget. Cant invest alot.

You can't run a motor direct from the EZ-B, it must go through a H-Bridge or a transistor switching circuit.

The problem with motors is there is no position feedback from them unless you add in a pot and monitor it, using motors over servos involves a lot more setting up and less accuracy.
