Robosapien First Project

I followed the video and I am currently at the following stage

  1. Robosapien powers the ez-robot controller (red and blue light)
  2. computer sees the card. (firmware also updated).
  3. if I disconnect the servo cable from the controller the standard remote control works. When the servo cable is connected, it doesn't.
  4. I have not hooked up the camera or any controllers.

I would like to test to see if I connected the servo cable correctly to the Robosapien motherboard. When I connect the cable to d1 on the controller (only option in pull down menu) and use the cursor on the computer nothing seems to happen (except flickering of the blue light). Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to test this?
