Hello to all, I realize that this is very much a noobie question, however........ Does anyone know of any problems downloading the ARC software? I have tried repeatedly to download it and took all the trouble shooting steps. The file does show up, as well as the icons on the start page. The ARC itself does not open. I've attached a few screen shots showing my files and downloads. Any suggestions?
It isn't the download. It appears to be installed correctly.
Perhaps your computer is blocking it. Try right clicking ARC, click properties, and go to the bottom where it may say "This item came from another computer and may be a risk" or something like that. Click the unblock box if you have it. Otherwise, try runing as an Administrator by right-clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator".
Thank you for your reply Maze. I tried as you suggested and clicked on "run as administrator". Still no success. I have made other downloads and they installed as they should. Any other thoughts?
Try making an exception in your antivirus program or disable antivirus for a short time altogether.
If that doesn't work when the popup appears saying that the program has been blocked, look very closely for a sentence that says something like "more info" and click on it. In the next window click on "allow" or the likes.
As Dave said, the other possibility is your anti virus blocking it. Try to find where you can make exceptions in it and add ARC, and associated files to it.
Otherwise, try a complete uninstall, restart your computer, and install it from the download off the website.
