Power - Not Working - 3D Printed Six Robot

Hello All,

I am building my own Six robot with 3D printed parts and MG996R servos. I have sadly run into some issues. First off is a power issue from what I believe. I am using a 6xAA battery pack to run my robot. The total amount of power it is delivering is 7.4 - 7.8 volts and 15 - 16 amps. Am I giving too many amps? When all 12 servos are plugged in, the EZ-B turns off and restarts anytime I press connect on ARC. I am using freshly charged batteries and I have checked all the plugs with my multimeter. Any help is deeply appreciated.

You can't "give" amps... Amps are drawn by the device using the power... As an example electric motors (or servos) pull or draw more current (amps) than say LEDs do ... Saying that your problem is still power... or more precisely lack of it... AA batteries cannot provide enough power (current or amps) to power your robot. This is due to their high internal resistance compared to other batteries like Lipos, SLA and larger niMhs sub c packs... When you click to connect the servos in your robot attempt to pull a huge amount of current all at once. Your AAs cannot supply enough current so the voltage suddenly drops significantly... This is only temporary and the batteries will recover, but not before dipping below 4.5v which triggers the reset in the ezb... The solution is to ditch the AAs and get a 7.4 Lipo to replace them...
