Few things I wanted to mention,
Thanks for making it a very simple process to register! It's nice not to have to squint at captcha and guess at things and wait on registration confirmation emails, etc.
I found EZ-Robot.com through a suggestion made by someone on another forum and, although it is outside my price range and scope for my current project, I am highly impressed. Thank you for making such an all-in-one kit that is also highly capable and upgradeable available to the begginer. I wish I could afford one!
I'm not currently building a "robot" as the robot'ing community tends to define them, I am building a rather-large radio control vehicle. I've only recently ordered (but not recieved) my motor controller. I am using the drive-axle out of a mobility scooter. I'm not yet sure what I will use for an RC system, but the controller will allow me to use simple wired controls for now.
I started looking for ways to add some sort of simple tilt-sensing control that could slow the vehicle down if it was on a steep incline. That led me to being curious about adding some sort of processor to it. Then I started thinking features that I would like to add to the vehicle if I was going to have a processor in it anyways, like object sensing (for not crashing into walls), automobile style lighting (headlights, tail lights, turn signals, etc.), sounds (engine, horn..) and maybe even MP3 playback .. My posts about those ideas on letsmakerobots and the arduino forum are what got me sent here.
I love the idea of being able to use an XBox or PS3 controller or similar and onle needing to interface TWO devices instead of three (RC reciever, processor, motor controller)
(posting at work.. will add more to this later)

Welcom! I currently have my little omnibot controlled with a gamepad. It is really cool, plus you get to see what he sees.
@DieCastoms welcome! Great to hear about your project. The price of the unit is actually quite cheap once you evaluate it. I think people under estimate how much work and effort is involved in the programming side. An EZ-Robot next to anything else in the world will receive all of the attention. When we attend events, people have their R/C and Arduino robots, but we receive the attention because ours are interactive
When you add up all of the tiny little parts like servos and sensors and cameras, plus the software, plus the controller - it's still cheaper than sourcing them yourself. Although, we're the only robot company that gives you a camera anyway
Sales pitch is over hahaha. Now it's time to hear more about your robot! I'd love to see pics and hear more about it.
