Myo Armband - Poses

Dear EZ-Robot,

At the University of Antwerp we are working on a research project with a test setup that uses the ARC and the thalmic labs Myo-armband to control a robotic hand. While EZ builder is a great platform to prototype robotics the Myo armband plugin has a drawback that limits us in the effective use of the myo-armband and ARC. The Myo-Armband plugin can classify four poses (Fist, hand spread, wave in, wave out) and recognises rest as a pose. However, it is not possible to us the rest pose in the programming. Since the poses are shown in the plugin would it be possible for you to add the poses as variable in EZ builder? I know it might not be as easy as it seems but If it would be possible to use rest in the programming it would tremendously increase the usability of the system.

I am looking forward to your reply Sincerely ,

Erik Haring Seth Van Akeleyen

I can't help with this but I have to say that I'm stunned by the beauty of the campus and buildings of the University of Antwerp in Belgium. What a grand place. I'd describe it as epic beauty. Something that I'd stand there with my mouth open and say "Wow".

Good luck with your request. Usually DJ and EZ Robot are very quick and responsive to the community's request and if it's something they can't or won't be able to do they will be very honest about it and explain why.

I'm pretty sure the Myo Armband feature is not a plugin but a built in control of ARC. Not really important to your problem buy it may help with understanding ARC if you look into it.

Will do! I'll make it an open source plugin for anyone to modify

Hi Dj, The plugin for the Myo armband works fine! There is a functional 'rest' gesture now. Thanks a lot for the fast and helpful support. Most impressive! I will post some pictures of the tests with our robotic hand soon! grtz, Seth
