The MP3 Trigger can get it's power from the ez-b or from a different power source. I think you need to change a jumper on it depending how you power it. Here is a link that will tell you what you need to know: synthiam.com/Tutorials/Hardware.aspx?id=18
Also go to Sparkfun and download the users manual for the MP3 Trigger on how to use it. There is a bunch of remarks from other users on that page that are very helpful if you read through them.
