Marvin The Paranoid Android

Interesting Story

Who remembers this BBC series from the Douglas Adams book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Well years ago I was working in BBC Bristol and in their vehicle garage and noticed a few boxes amongst all the other junk stored there. TV buildings especially the BBC are always like this props junk everywhere. In the boxes was Marvin the robot all in bits waiting to be thrown away I guess! I did think at the time I should of loaded him into my car but thought better of it (what a mistake!!!) It would have been brilliant now for a bit of EZ-B modding.

At the BBC Television Centre London the original Dr Who Tardis is stored and I often visited to take a look when I was at a meeting in London because of the size a bit more difficult to spirit away........

Still wish I had picked up marvin though :(

Dude that would have been AWESOME! I really really like douglas adams. Marvin would have been an interesting robot to build!

I'd like to build a walking robot. I started on one a few weeks ago but haven't had the time to finish it. I really don't see their practicality, but ppl seem to like them lately. The take way more effort to build than their worth IMO.

Well, we'll see if I can finish building mine someday. I'm in no rush:)
