I have checked and double checked my sunshine makes me smileembly of the JD robot and can't seem to find anything done incorrectly. Some of my commands work perfectly, but some such as the I Believe I can fly do not. In this instance JD is lifting his right foot forward as if to kick instead of leaning to the right and lifting his left leg backward behind him. The result is JD falling on the floor and his head popping off. Any suggestions of what I am doing wrong?
Thanks!
That was supposed to say the way JD is put together, not sunshine makes me smileembly
Sounds like the servos are backward. You’d kick the wrong direction if I put your leg joints reversed as well
hehe. We put a fantastic video with detailed instructions in The Robot Program episodes to building and programming jd. I’d recommend taking him apart and following the video
here’s the link to jd’s detailed and awesome lesson: https://synthiam.com/Tutorials/Lesson/125?courseId=1
FYI - the web admin ninja fixed the censor parser so assembly isn’t a swear anymore lol
Thanks!
Another question... JD's left foot is "floppy", it just hangs when I hold him up. All the other joints make a sound when I move them manually and there is tension in them, but this is not the case for the left foot, no tension and no sound when I move it at all. Every time JD leans to the left he just falls over because there is no tension holding him up. Is it supposed to be like that, or do I have a defective part?
Hi @mmarx
It sounds like you may have a stripped ankle bracket. Please Contact Us here: https://synthiam.com/About/Contact-Us.aspx
