I Cannot Connect At All

Maybe even EZ is too difficult for me. I cannot get the computer to recognize a new bluetooth device at all. Let me say I have purchased 2 and tried both boards. I have inserted both BT usbs (sometimes a blue light but mostly not on either). Boards are powered by 4 AA one board is flashing red on BT and white on main board or ther flashing red on BT and amber on main board. Devised manager will recognize no new devise and there is therefore no request for pairing code. I have tried the boards in a variety of combinations and configurations. The desktop computer is a gateway model SX2850 with wireless keyboard and mouse. Anythoughts?

By BT USB, do you mean the USB Dongle that comes with the Complete Robot Kit? If so, that is for the camera - not for the EZ-B. If your computer does not have bluetooth (which I suspect that model does not), then you will require a USB Bluetooth Dongle. We have them available on the Buy page (under Choose Items Individually) - or you can purchase one at your local Futureshop/Best Buy/Radio Shack, etc type store.

I'd suggest getting a usb bluetooth dongle locally rather than paying shipping charges:)

Once your computer has bluetooth, the rest is a breeze:D

FYI: The reason the camera has a dongle is because it does not use bluetooth. The communication between the EZ-B and computer does not leave available bandwidth for a camera or audio. That is a combined restriction on affordable microcontroller processors and bluetooth.

Most EZ-Robot users have laptops. Laptops usually have built in bluetooth devices. Most desktops do not have bluetooth, which is strange because they have more room.

I am officially a dope. Had a dongle, installed all is well. Thanks very much.
