Hello all, I have an old remote control Hummer frame that I would love to hook up to the EZ-B. It has a motor in the back that is geared to one wheel and both wheels are on an axle. There is also a motor in the front that rotates the front wheels to steer.
I am not sure how many volts or amps either motor uses. The back motor works fine when directly connected to the 6 AA battery pack, but when connected to D0 on the EZ-B it browns out. The front motor also works when directly connected to the battery pack.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

you can't run motors direct from the EZB you need to fit a hbridge
Thank you RichMR2. Instead of using the current motors on the Hummer H3, I decided to cut away some plastic and use the EZ-Robot motors.
Thanks,

Motors will give more torque and speed if you find the servos not good enough. A H-Bridge is simple to wire up and configure.

Why don't you try ESC's. They're compact, with a high power output. One ESC = 1 EZ-B port. If I'm not mistaken a H-bridge needs 4 ports. Check this video :

Good luck and enjoy !
yes, a H-Bridge will require 4 ports for 2 DC motors but it's a small price to pay for the advantages. It will all come down to how many ports you need for other functions though.
I use these:
Graupner ESC
Although I bought them much cheaper. Anyway, they are compact and acurate.
