Is the EZ-B board a two layer board or a multilayer board? I think I need to cut the corners off to fit it in a project i'm working on. I'm worried that I may short out any layers that may between the top & bottom. Probably have to remove the power jack and relocate the Blue led, but it should be do-able. Looks to be two layer! drwass2
Pls don't cut...
If you do cut it there is a high chance of breaking a circuit. You can cut it if you want, but it would be solely your responsibility if it was unresponsive after.
No modification to the board is recommended.
I really need to just "round" out the corners a little.
Nothing involving any of the traces. drwass2 sick
Hopfully.you.won't.knick anything , that.would.suck man.
and to answer your question, yes it is a 2 layer board.
@skater
Definitely missed that in my response but yes it is. I should know I've built almost 500 of these boards lol.
Lol are you glad solarbotics does it now?
Hmm, I guess to clarify things, Solarbotics isn't a manufacturer of EZ-Bs only a distributor, Colin and others that work directly with EZ-robot to manufacturer the final product (and have been doing a fine job I might add).
If Solarbotics did manufacture EZ-Bs I would be a busy man
Well I've rounded off the corners and the board still works. If I can figure out how to add pictures I'll put some up.
@skater
You are correct. EZ-B is DJ (mastermind), Alan, Cade and I (lowly master instruction follower). Solarbotics is a distributer. Thank you! (I am intrigued as to your identity.)
@DrWass2
Great to hear! I use dropbox combined with the public folder to post image links)

So then who is.soldering these pcb's now? I remember dj they worked out somthing so they didn't need to hand solder anymore. I.only got this from Solarbotics.com being.on.the bottom of my PCB.
To unlock the mystery, I am Jeremie. I work for Solarbotics (in the R&D department) and helped EZ-Robot with v3 of the hardware design, hence the Solarbotics logo on the first round of v3 boards. In the beginning Solarbotics was supposed to partner with EZ-Robot for exclusive distributorship but as things progressed the partnership disolved but Solarbotics is still kept on as a distributor for EZ-Robot. I personally am still a big fan of the EZ-B project and always want to help out where I can. I am still working on Optimus Prime (it's been a little while now) and his progress is documented in the project showcase forum. My secret identity has now been revealed.
Colin is the hard working, soldering guy he's always been. I think DJ may have been referring to his future plans with an EZ-Robot factory when talking about not having to solder anymore.
