In Israel, like in many other well developed countries, there is a variety of organizations which specify in fund-raising for different targets such as cancer research, fight against child abuse, campaigns seeking to prevent road accidents, etc.
These organizations are able to collect relatively high sums of donations, doing so, amongst other, with the help of volunteers.
According to the data collected by an un-biased agency, funded by the Israeli government, only 32-35 percent of the funds raised reach their initial targets (helping the sick and those in financial need, road safety campaigns, etc.)
Now, thinks for a minute about this number. THINK about the 65-68 percent of funds, collected in order to try and solve an important social issue, an issue, in most cases, directly linked to someoe's health and/or well-being. These vast funds simply never get there.
So, where do they really go?
Sadly, that money goes directly into the deep pockets of the bureaucrats employed in those organizations (Amutot in hebrow). It does not help the people in need, but it is spent on making these rich men even richer.
Do you think that is a just cause?
I for one do not.
It is fundamentally immoral to hide behind principles of philanthropy and aid, yet taking away the help from people who need it the most.
But, that is not the worst thing yet!!!
(The worst thing is that) The people, who desperately require financial help, are destined to pass through a wide variety of obstacles and humiliations, due to the fact that the same bureaucrats, who claim to "help" the people in need, are, on the other hand, inclined to guard "their money" well.
Just imagine the next scenario: The parents of a child, that requires an expensive surgery, must waste their valuable time and energy running between clerks and offices, in order to collect the necessary funds, instead of spending time with their sick (and maybe dying) child.
What do you have to say about a situation like that?
I, for one, am furious! This is unjust, immoral and simply should not be this way!!!
Apparently, because of this "convenient" situation, parents are enforced to create their own micro-organizations, 100 percent oriented for their child's care.
What can I do about all this?
Go to battle against those clerks? That will be a waste of time. Those people will never change.
Fight against the system? I am not Don Quixote, to go against the windmills.
I am a common man, and do not possess power and influence. Nor do I have the skills to inspire and navigate the people around me.
My profession is a computer programmer.
What I can do is to create a Robot, capable of collecting donations, and use that money as I see right and fit. And specifically: give ALL of the funds raised directly to the people who need them the most.
What will come of this, I will be telling you further along the way.
P.S.
I am an Israeli, and I consider myself to be a patriot. Precisely because of this, I am so harshly criticizing my beloved country. I deeply wish for it to be a better place, and I begin with what I can. I begin with myself.
I bought EZ-Kit And now trying to assemble a robot His name is DoneBot
So your building a rolling safe deposit box? Check out the cattle zapper that might deter your robot from getting robbed.
@jstarne1, thank you for advice, but I am not concerned about this I'm sure that I have such problems will not be.
I began to how should look my robot
You want your robot to look like a stack of cardboard boxes? Or are you talking about the robots face or earphones?
If I can suggest something , people love giving robots money that do something once a deposit is made. We have a robot here that when you place money on its tray it.opens the top of this trash can looking robot and eats it , the eyes roll around and says yum , thankyou and burps. It even has a tounge that licks his lips sort of after it eats the money. I recommend this. The body could be a stainless steel trashcan and build from there ! You will get a lot more money if there is some kind of entertainment value. Oh also the.public is very fascinated with two wheel balance robots as well , that gets tons of attention when we see these in public!
