Demonstration Of Visual Human Detection ?

I am considering getting into EZ Robot and I have been working with Arduino for a few years and considering the next upgrade for robot development. I am mostly interested in detecting the visual presence/location of a person and face detection. Are there any good demonstrations of these capabilities with EZ Robot? Is there any comparison to say, OpenCV + RPi?

Thanks!

Hello @sekramer01,

Welcome to the forum. If you want to use the face for tracking and limited recogtion the camera offered with an EZB controller will do what you want. There is a device produced by OMRON which does all you want plus more. Though it is expensive it is a very reliable device. A plugin has been made to operate it with the EZ Robot controller. The interface allows a lot of function.

Type in B5t Omron in the search bar and you will find information on the device.

Enjoy.

Load the EZ Robot software and go thru the tutorials to see what can be done with cameras, and other features. Many examples are shown also.

Also, The Robot Program offers a lot of information.

@Andy Roid typically likes to do things the hard way...:D You don't need to buy the expensive Omron to do what you want... Check out EZ Robot's video channel and look for videos of demos on Microsoft's Cognitive Vision and Cognitive Emotion... What you want to do is pretty much built into the ARC software...

You don't need to buy anything to try this out for yourself. You will need a camera (USB type if the built in one on your laptop doesn't work in ARC), ARC software and a subscription (free) to Microsoft's cognitive services...
